Running Physiotherapy
Whether you are new to running, a weekend park runner, or an experienced marathoner, Kinetic Sports Physiotherapy offer a range of running specific services to ensure you can achieve your running goals and enjoy the numerous health benefits running offers.
As an experienced distance runner, our physiotherapist James has developed a keen interest in working with runners of all levels. He has completed post-graduate study and courses in running injury management, technique retraining and performance, and offers the most up to date evidence-based advice and treatment techniques.
Our services include:
· Running injury management.
Injury diagnosis; assessment of contributing factors; video analysis of running technique; and individualised management which may include training advice and education, strengthening exercises, technique retraining and hands on therapy to address injury cause and reduce risk of reinjury.
· Running assessments.
Ideal for the beginner or experienced runner who is not currently injured but wants to be proactive in ensuring they are doing all they can to stay consistent and maximise their running performance. These sessions will include:
A review of your running history, current training routine, future goals and injury history.
An individualised assessment of flexibility, strength, power and running technique.
Written plan including specific recommendations, technique changes and exercises that will assist in improving your running performance.
· Strength programs to improve running performance.
Research indicates that consistent strength training significantly improves running performance and reduces injury risk. These sessions will include an individualised assessment and prescription of a periodised strength training program appropriate for your level and experience. Program supervision and follow up can be organised.
