Simon Mole

With over 30 years professional experience, Simon Mole is the only APA Specialist Sports Physiotherapist in the Hunter Region with expertise in the shoulder, elbow and knee.

Holding a Master’s Degree in Health Science (Manipulative Physiotherapy) Simon Mole developed advanced skills in the treatment of spinal pain, headaches and jaw (TMJ) pain, and dizziness. His Master’s treatise investigated the links between working postures and the development of neck pain.

In 2007, Simon Mole was awarded the title of Specialist Sports Physiotherapist by examination from the Australian College of Physiotherapists, with the shoulder being his area of specialisation. Simon previously completed the Australian Weightlifting Federation Club Weightlifting/Sports Power Coach Licence course and has been an accredited coach.

Simon Mole regularly gives back to the physiotherapy community, lecturing both nationally and abroad in the fields of sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapy, the shoulder, elbow and knee, injury prevention and rehabilitation. He consults to the Australian Institute of Sport, Northern Territory Institute of Sport, South Australian Sports Institute and New South Wales Institute of Sport. Simon is also a consultant with the Australian College of Physiotherapists as both a facilitator and examiner for the specialist Sports Physiotherapy Training Program.

His passion, dedication and mastery of sports physiotherapy has allowed him to work with the world’s most elite athletes at the highest levels.

Kate Ancliff

Kate has over 15 years professional experience and specialises in musculoskeletal, spinal, sports and post-operative management.

She has completed her certification examination in Clinical Pilates which makes her the one of the few Physiotherapists in the Newcastle region with this qualification. Kate conducts one-on-one and small group Clinical Pilates Classes by appointment as well as consulting patients.

Since graduating in 2008 Kate has continually improved as a professional and completed numerous courses in sports physiotherapy, clinical pilates, plaster & fibreglass cast application, orthotic prescription, thermoplastic splint construction and hand therapy.

Kate prides herself on educating her patients about their injury and therefore helping them to optimise their body function and go on to enjoy their lives.

Cate Thomas

Cate has over 17 years professional experience. She is a titled Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist and Sports Physiotherapist with extensive experience in Musculoskeletal, Orthopaedics and Sports injury management.

Cate holds a Masters of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and has recently completed a Masters of Sports Medicine at the University of Melbourne. Cate is an experienced Clinical Pilates instructor.

In addition to her clinical roles, Cate has been involved in clinical research, contributing to the LEAP Study into lateral hip pain through The University of Melbourne. She has lectured to both undergraduate and postgraduate Physiotherapy students.

She is passionate about injury prevention in children and adolescents and has an overall interest in the role movement patterns have in injury and pain, particularly in sport.

Cate has had the opportunity to work not only within Australia, but New Zealand and the UK, where she has furthered her skills and knowledge in both the musculoskeletal and sporting fields.

Natalie Hebblewhite

Natalie graduated with her Masters of Physiotherapy from the University of Sydney in 2011. Upon completion, Natalie has spent time working in Canada, Sydney and more recently in Newcastle.

She has experience treating patients of all ages in a variety of clinical areas; such as musculoskeletal, orthopaedics, post-surgical, sports injuries, paediatrics, and neurological rehabilitation.

Natalie has a keen interest in treating children, adolescents and adults with musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions and sports injuries. She has completed her Clinical Pilates certification with APPI. She is currently completing her Masters of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy through the University of Queensland.

Natalie enjoys treating patients with the use of manual therapy, Clinical Pilates, exercise prescription and health promotion, and has a strong passion to make a difference in people’s lives.

Hannah Williams

Hannah holds a Bachelor of Physiotherapy with Honours from the University of Newcastle, graduating in 2019. With a diverse professional journey, Hannah has worked in various locations across Australia, including Hobart, Western Australia and now returning to Newcastle.

Hannah's extensive experience spans across different healthcare settings, including hospitals for post-operative management and private practice environments. Her clientele has ranged from state-level soccer players and competitive surfers to theatre performers, ocean swimmers and avid hikers, helping them reclaim their active lifestyles.

In addition to her academic achievements, Hannah holds certifications in APA Sports Level 1 and 2, as well as an ASCA Strength and Conditioning Level 1 qualification, enhancing her expertise in sports rehabilitation and performance enhancement. Tim Gough

Tim is a Sports Physiotherapist having achieved a Master of Sports Physiotherapy through the University of Queensland in 2024. He has previously completed a Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT) degree from Macquarie University and a Bachelor of Health & Exercise Science (Hons.) from UNSW.

Tim enjoys seeing a wide range of sports related injuries and musculoskeletal conditions, with a particular interest in treating the shoulder, hip and groin as well as juvenile athletes. He has worked with a wide variety of sports including rowing, swimming, AFL, basketball, soccer and rugby league having previously been a pathways physiotherapist for the Newcastle Knights U21 team. He is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) and a Rowing Australia Community Preferred Provider.
